PLAYER: James Jenkins

POSITION: Offensive lineman

YEAR: Redshirt sophomore

HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6'5", 300 lbs.

HOW DID HE GET HERE? Jenkins was a big get for the Bulls. He was rated a mid-to-high three star recruit out of local Carrollwood Day School, and put together an impressive offer list including the likes of Penn State, Ole Miss, and Miami. For what it’s worth, his recruitment focused on smaller schools, and he was committed to Cincinnati for a while before flipping to USF on early signing day.

HOW WAS HIS 2024 SEASON? We haven’t seen much of Jenkins yet, as he’s struggled with injuries. He redshirted in 2023, appearing in one game, and didn’t see the field in 2024.

WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT IN 2025? Here’s hoping Jenkins can get and stay healthy in 2025 and we can see him earn his first significant playing time in green and gold. He’s still only a sophomore eligibility-wise, and he’s one of the highest-rated high school recruits that USF’s brought in on the offensive line under Alex Golesh. There’s plenty of time for him to make an impact.
