Stampeding Through the 2025 USF Football Roster: #70 OL Gerrick Gordon Jr.
Our countdown takes us to a signing day steal.
PLAYER: Gerrick Gordon Jr.
POSITION: Offensive lineman
YEAR: Freshman
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6'4", 290 lbs.
HOW DID HE GET HERE? Gordon was a big get for the Bulls, literally and figuratively. He started his high school career at Trinity Catholic in Ocala, where he turned a lot of heads and committed to The Dreaded Rutgers in June 2024 over offers from pretty solid power conference programs like Miami, South Carolina, and Louisville. For his senior season, he transferred to Carrollwood Day School in Tampa, and shocked some folks when decided to #StayInTheBay and flipped from The Dreaded Rutgers to USF on early signing day. The recruiting services liked Gordon quite a bit - On3 had him rated as a mid-to-high three star prospect and the second highest-rated commit in USF’s 2025 signing class.
WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT IN 2025? Please say the line, SpongeBob.
Thank you. For that reason, I don’t think we should expect much in the way of playing time for any true freshmen on the O-line this season. But when USF brings in a recruit of Gordon’s caliber, it’s probably a good idea to take notice. He could be a player to watch in 2026 and beyond.
